DIXON — William “Bill” Lawrence Lyons, Jr., was born on March 11, 1963 in Dixon, to William and Sheryl (Scharpf) Lyons. Bill was surrounded by his family when he graduated to Heaven on Oct. 16, 2021.

Bill was preceded in death by his mother, Sheryl and son, Adam.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa (Wittenauer); father, William; siblings, Crystel and David; children, Zeb and wife Amanda, Noah and wife Courtney, Luke, Katherine and husband Patrick, and Hannah; his beautiful grandchildren, Drusilla, Mason, Moriah, Scarlett, Isabelle & Jethro; and many nieces and nephews.

Bill was raised in Amboy, and graduated from Amboy High in 1981. While there, he was a faithful member of the local FFA where he met the love of his life, Lisa. They married on Feb. 18, 1984 and celebrated 37 faithful years together. Bill was a person who loved working the farm, caring for his family and dedicated his life to helping others.

In November of 1990 his life was changed when he met his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and determined to follow him the rest of his life. He did this as a pastor, missionary and servant-leader both in the US and Abroad for the next 30 years. Next to God and his family, he loved his Japanese church and the people he impacted around the world.

When in the states, Bill loved to travel the country with his love Lisa, and spend time with their five children and six grandkids, and brag about them and their accomplishments to all who would listen. Bill lived a life that embodied his life verse, Jude 22 which says "and of some have compassion, making a difference."

Services for Bill was held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021 at Greenlawn Funeral Home East. Visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 22, 2021 in the funeral home.

Family interment will be at Prairie Repose Cemetery Amboy.
