AMBOY – Rose Mary Theiss, 70, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2024 in Riverside, CA.

A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, August 23, 2024 at the Acheson & Graham Garden of Prayer Mortuary in Riverside, CA.  Interment will be at St. Mary’s cemetery in Sublette at a later date.

Rose was born in Amboy and graduated from Amboy High School in 1971.  After her marriage to Les Theiss in 1976, she moved to Riverside, Calif. where she worked for the Press Enterprise for 33 years. 

Theiss enjoyed road trip vacations, birdwatching, gardening, holiday baking, and playing games. She was known to be a bit of a prankster.  Her quick wit and cheerful attitude will be missed by friends, family and anyone lucky enough to have known her.

Theiss was preceded in death by her parents, Clement and Mary Henkel; brother, Charles Henkel; one sister in infancy, Louise; and her twin sister at birth, Rose Marie.  She is survived by her loving husband Les; brothers and sisters, Delores (Keith) Beck of Tucson, Ariz.; Nancy Neal of Amboy; Paula Henkel of Salt Lake City, Utah; Mark (Tammy) Henkel of Sublette; Tim (Melody) Henkel of Amboy; and Carole (John) Day of Dixon; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews.
