SUBLETTE – Del Bonnell returned home to Heaven on Tuesday June 18, 2024 at the Phoenix VA in Arizona.

Del was surrounded in his last hours by his daughters Nadene Larson and DeeAnn Smith, and his niece Janece Hanks.

Bonnell was preceded in death by his wife Joan (Jones) Bonnell, grandsons Matthew and Tyler Larson, brother Bruce Bonnell, nephew Martin Bonnell, niece Kathy (Shanyfelt) Balik and, parents V.O. and Nellie Bonnell.

Del worked in the family business with Bruce (V.O. Bonnell & Sons Inc.) until he retired.

He also served in the Army from 1954 to 1956.

Del loved playing golf and working part-time at Shady Oaks Golf Course with many of his friends. 

Bonnell spent summers between Illinois and Minnesota to stay cool. Then spent his winters in Phoenix, Arizona to keep warm.

He is survived by daughters Nadene Larson, DeeAnn Smith, sisters Jeanne Shanyfelt and St. Martinelle Bonnell, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at 10 a.m. until the time of the service afterward on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2024.

Mass of Christian burial will be held 11 a.m. Saturday Aug. 10, 2024 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Sublette with Rev. Randy Fronek officiating.  Burial of cremains with Military Honors will follow the Mass at St. Mary Cemetery in Sublette. A luncheon will follow at the church hall.
