DIXON – This boys bowling season has been different for Dominic Fonderoli.

AMBOY – When Michael Olson became the Amboy wrestling coach before the start of the 2024-25 season, he figuratively made a check mark.

AMBOY – The Amboy girls basketball team has been on a roll.

AMBOY – After losing five games in a row, the Amboy boys basketball team returned two tallies into the win column in its last four games.

FULTON – Aden Spinelli, Caiden Heath, and Jose Lopez won two matches each as the Amboy High School wrestling team took part in a triangular with Fulton and Polo on Thursday, Jan. 23 in Fulton.

PERU – The Amboy boys’ wrestling team has been assigned to the Peru (St. Bede) Class 1A Individual Regional to be held Saturday, Feb. 8.

BLOOMINGTON – The Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Board of Directors met for its regularly scheduled meeting at the IHSA office in Bloomington on Jan. 15, where the Board approved a pair of advisory committee recommendations aimed at bringing the IHSA Baseball and Softball State Final schedules in alignment with other multiclass IHSA sports.

The Amboy junior varsity wrestling team finished second out of 16 teams at the Clipper Tournament Saturday, Jan. 11.

AMBOY – Daunting could have been used to describe the schedule for the Amboy girls basketball team this past week.

AMBOY – The wrestling mats were laid out Thursday, Jan. 9 at Amboy High School for a triangular between Amboy, Mendota, and Genoa-Kingston.

AMBOY – Every basketball team wants to win every game. However, sometimes squads learn important lessons with tough defeats.

AMBOY – With a week break thanks to the holidays, the Amboy boys basketball team was back on the hardwood Saturday, Jan. 4 against Warren and Monday, Jan. 6 versus Newman.

MENDOTA – Players on the Amboy girls basketball team stood tall Friday, Jan. 3 during a 51-29 victory against Mendota on the road.

LaMOILLE – The LaMoille Holiday Classic held its third rendition Dec. 26-28.

AMBOY – Although the Amboy girls basketball tournament had a 2-1 record during the Amboy Girls Basketball Holiday Tournament Dec. 26-28, so did two other teams, Marquette and Newman.

AMBOY – The Amboy-LaMoille wrestling team has hit the mats hard as of late.

AMBOY – The Amboy boys basketball split its two games last week.

AMBOY – Senior Quinn Leffelman was on fire behind the 3-point line against non-conference opponent LaMoille on Saturday, Dec. 14 in Amboy.

SENECA – The Amboy wrestling team made the best of a long day of wrestling Saturday, Dec. 7 at the Seneca Irish Invite as the Clippers took seventh out of 20 teams.

AMBOY – After posting a 2-2 mark at the Oregon Thanksgiving Tournament and losing senior guard Addison Pertell for 4-6 weeks with a broken thumb, the Amboy girls basketball team has been in one tough contest after another.

AMBOY – The Amboy boys basketball team started the season just the way it wanted it to as the Clippers won their first game of the season 57-37 against DePue Tuesday, Nov. 26 on the road.

AMBOY – Coach Mike McCracken and his Amboy girls basketball team were ready to kick off the season during the Oregon Thanksgiving Tournament November 20-23 in Oregon.
