In July 1999, Amboy High School was constructing a brand ne track for its track and field athletes.

Members of the Amboy Lions Club and disc golfers from all over the area created history Saturday, June 29 as the disc golf course at Amboy City Park held a grand opening ceremony and a disc golf seminar.

AMBOY – The Amboy girls basketball camp ran eight days, May 29-June 1 and June 3-6, to kick off the summer.

BLOOMINGTON – The Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Board of Directors met for its regularly scheduled meeting at the IHSA office in Bloomington on June 10, where the Board made decisions on two state final sites and approved the addition of the shot clock in the sport of basketball beginning in 2026-27, while also adjusting the state final schedule for America’s Original March Madness.

BLOOMINGTON – The Illinois Coaches Association and the Shriners of Illinois will host the 50th annual Illinois High School Shrine Game on Saturday, June 15 at Tucci Stadium on the campus of Illinois Wesleyan University. Kick-off for the 50th annual game is scheduled for 11 a.m.

AMBOY – The Amboy baseball team saw Amboy High School listed six times on the Northwest Upstate Illini All-Conference Team released on Friday, May 24.

AMBOY – The Northwest Upstate Illini Conference recently announced its all-conference softball team.

Shortly before graduating from Amboy High School, Lucas Blanton made his decision to advance to the next level in education and in wrestling official by signing to Illinois Wesleyan University.

CHARLESTON – The Amboy co-op boys track and field team had one representative at the IHSA Class 1A State Track and Field Meet preliminaries on Thursday, May 23 at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston.

CHARLESTON – After the preliminary races on Thursday of the IHSA State Track Meet weekend, Amboy senior Elly Jones was seeded eighth in the 100-meter hurdles for the final race on Saturday, May 18.

ERIE – Heading into the boys track and field postseason, senior Ian Sundberg would have put all his chips on the table toward discus being his ticket to the IHSA Class 1A State Meet.

ASHTON – Coming into the IHSA Class 1A Ashton-Franklin Center Regional Semifinal on Wednesday, May 15, the Amboy baseball team had defeated AFC twice earlier in the season.

Throughout the season the Amboy softball team has become known for big hits in timely situations.

MANLIUS – The Amboy girls’ track team qualified five girls in four events for the IHSA Class 1A State Track & Field Meet after the Lady Clippers participated in the Bureau Valley Class 1A Sectional on May 8.

MALTA – Kishwaukee College hired Matt Long as the next head coach for the Men’s Basketball team. Long will take over the role in Spring 2024 as the 11th head coach in program history.

AMBOY – Pitching and swinging were working int the Amboy softball team’s favor against Ashton-Franklin Center in their Northwest Upstate Illini Conference battles Tuesday, April 30 and Wednesday, May 1.

ASHTON – There were many saviors on Thursday, May 2 for the Amboy baseball team on the road in Ashton, but the first one to leap off the box score is junior Eddie Jones.

ERIE – The Amboy boys’ track team has been assigned to the Erie Class 1A Sectional Track Meet to be held Thursday, May 16. Action will begin with the field events at 4 p.m., followed by the running events at 5:45 p.m.

ASHTON – The Amboy Clippers will participate in the Ashton-Franklin Center Class 1A Regional Baseball Tournament. The Clippers are the fourth seed in the sub-sectional.

AMBOY – The Amboy Lady Clippers will host the Amboy Class 1A Regional Softball Tournament to be held May 13, 14, 15, 17.

Rain and thunderstorms have influenced all baseball schedules this season including Amboy.

The Amboy softball team enters the last three weeks of the regular season with an above .500 record as the Lady Clippers are 8-7 overall and 5-3 in the Northwest Upstate Illini Conference.
