AMBOY – Debra L. Sanders, 65, of Amboy, passed away Sat. Aug. 10, 2024 at her home in Amboy.
Cremation rites have been accorded with a celebration of life to be held from 1-3 p.m. Sept. 22, 2024 at the Amboy Community Building. Arrangements by the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy.
Sanders was born on Sept. 21, 1958 in Rochelle, the daughter of George and Bernice (Weishaar) Ennen.
Debra was a CNA at Mapleside Manor nursing home in Amboy and worked at Tri-County Opportunity Council. She also sold Avon and Tupperware products. Debra was a member of Grace Fellowship Church and a long-time member of Ruffit Park in Rock Falls, where she enjoyed many weekends socializing with friends, attending activities, and spending quality time with her dogs.
Debra married Michael Sanders on Aug. 18, 1984 at St. John Lutheran Church in Ashton and he preceded her in death on March 17, 2009. Debra is also preceded in death by her father.
She is survived by her mother Bernice “Gussy” Ennen of Franklin Grove, brother Doug (Karen) Ennen of Tucson AZ, aunt Pauline Meurer, close friend Amber Horner, and her care taker for the last 15 years Cruz (Christy) Martinez of Amboy.
The family would also like to express a special thank you to Ava Martinez who helped care for Debra.
