AMBOY ‑ Suzanne K. Bernardin, 88, of Amboy, passed away in her sleep on Monday, Nov. 30, 2020 at Franklin Grove Living and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born March 11, 1932, in Rockford, the daughter of Walter and Marion (Jordan) Seaworth.

Suzanne was raised in Rockford but moved to the Amboy area when she married Edwin Bernardin on Nov. 24, 1949. Ed and Sue lived their entire married life in the Amboy area. Suzanne worked many jobs in her life. She worked at the Amboy Hospital caring for the patients there and then began working at the Amboy Paper typing articles to send to the printer. She later was the secretary at the Presbyterian Church in Dixon. In her later years she read the newspaper on the radio for the Northern Illinois Radio. Suzanne had a beautiful singing voice that she shared with many people when she was part of the Tom Roller Trio and a member of the choir at St. Patrick Church in Amboy. Her interests also included crafting, cooking, gardening and visiting the casinos. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and loved going on their many outings.

Suzanne is survived by her son, Micheal (Mary) Bernardin, of Compton; daughter, Jean (Don) Kreiser, of Dixon; and grandchildren, Amy (John) Smith, Lisa (Ryan) Zorn, Laura Bernardin, Bryan Keiser, Tracey (Michael) Ferrill, Tina Mueller, Dan (Andrea) Finkboner, Marcy (Dan) Brown and Micki (MIke) Blevins. She is also survived by her siblings, Roger Seaworth, Wendy (Ron) Allen, Mary Doyle, and son in law, Bob Boyer.

Suzanne is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Don Seaworth, and daughter, Marie Boyer.

There will be a private family visitation for Suzanne at 10 a.m., on Friday, Dec. 4, 2020, at the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy with burial to follow at St. Mary Cemetery in West Brooklyn.
