AMBOY — Roy Roland White, 72, of Amboy, passed away on, Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022, at Katherine Shaw Bethea Hospital in Dixon.

He was a lifetime farmer in the Lee County Area prior to his passing.

Roy was born March 2, 1949, in Amboy, the son of Roland and Clara (Alcorn) White. He married M. "Cathe" Roland on Sept. 26, 1968, in Amboy. Roy served in the United States Army Reserves. He was a member of the Living History Antique Equipment Association, Corn Collectors Association and Split Pits. Roy received the American Farmer Award for the State of IL in 1969. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all cherished spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife M. "Cathe" White of 53 years; three sons, Ryan (Heidi) White, of Bloomington, Rory (Jena) White, of Sublette, Clark (Kelly) Weaver, of Powell, Wyo.; seven grandchildren, Aubrie White, Megan White, Dylan White, Alexis White, Lorelei White, Kyle Weaver, Cory Weaver; three nieces, Tricia Sprenger, Kayla Colwell, Tammy Weaver; and along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Mark Allen White; and one sister Carolyn Colwell.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until time of funeral service at 4 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 28, 2022, at the Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, Ltd., Dixon, with his brother-in-law Lennie Roland, officiating. Cremation rites will follow the services.

Memorials may be directed to Ashton Franklin Center FFA or Lee County 4-H Center.
