DIXON – David Reinhold, 56, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2024 after a six-year-long battle with cancer.

David was born February 2, 1968 in Dixon to Janice and Donald Reinhold. He attended college at Rockford University, graduating in 1990 with a bachelor’s degree of science general studies. David moved to Towson, Maryland in 1993, and welcomed son Bryan Reinhold in 1994. The family relocated to Reisterstown, Maryland and welcomed daughter Katharine Reinhold in 1996.

Reinhold worked most of his life in publishing. He began his career in Baltimore, Maryland in 1993 as a publishing specialist for Monotype LLC. He progressed through the company for the next 21 years as it evolved. He ended his publishing career as the director of production technologies in 2014. From 2014 on he worked a variety of jobs and made an impression on everyone he interacted with. He was a perfectionist with strong attention to detail, ensuring that every project he worked on was completed to the highest standard, down to the smallest details.

Outside of work David was fun, creative, compassionate, and kind. He made friends with any and everybody and could engage in a conversation with a stranger for hours. He had a skill for building and crafting things as he painted and made furniture.

He welcomed people into his life with open arms and was extremely generous. He would share anything he had, even if he didn’t have much to give. David was a loving father to his two children, Bryan and Kate. He was loved deeply in return and did anything he could to create fond memories and experiences for his kids.

Following his cancer diagnosis in 2018, David kept a positive attitude and fought hard for the next six years. He always kept his mind on his family, friends, and the goals he wanted to accomplish. Even in his final days, he was making plans and spending time with those closest to him. He never gave up hope and found enjoyment in the smallest things.

Reinhold is survived by his daughter Katharine Reinhold, mother Janice Reinhold, and sister Amanda Reinhold. He was preceded in death by his son Bryan Reinhold and his father Donald Reinhold.

David’s legacy will certainly be his kindness and fun-loving spirit. It was impossible not to smile or laugh around him no matter what else may have been going on. Anyone who knew him, knew all they had to do was ask and he would do his best to provide guidance or jump in and help. He will be forever remembered and sincerely missed by many.
