AMBOY — Raymond "Ray" Beggs, 67, of Amboy, found peace with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2021.
Ray was born Nov.27, 1953, in DeKalb, the son of Lowell Beggs and Katherine Cavalconti.
Ray was raised a small-town boy who always had a smile on his face and joke on his lips. Shortly after graduation he enlisted in United States Navy just as his father did in his youth. It was in the service he found a love for travel and new experiences. When back home after his many years in the Navy he continued traveling and living between the west coast in California and his hometown in the Midwest. He spent over 30 years as an assistant manager at his father’s grocery store back home. He found a passion in missionary work and spreading his love for God which led him to many trips to the Philippines. It was here he found a purpose and appreciation of love, life and happiness.
Ray will never be forgotten by his children, Raynette Irene (Jonathan) Villarreal, Angela Patterson, Zachary Lowell Beggs and Joshua Burright; he will always be remembered as the grandpa with the "mints" by his nine grandchildren, Blanca Monique Beggs, Joel Josue Marcos Tapia, Rosario Marie Beggs Tapia, David Lopez, Violet Lopez, Raziel Villarreal, Izriel Villarreal, Sabrina Lee Juarez and Raymond Anthony Harden; and older brother John Beggs and younger sister Nancy DiBiase
He will be reunited with his parents, Lowell and Lillian Beggs, and sister, Joanne Biebel.
There will be no services at this time. Cremation rites have been accorded.
Memorials may be directed to American Heart Association.
