AMBOY – Mildred M. Doyle, 81, of Amboy, formerly of Shabbona, passed away on Thursday Sep. 12, 2024 at Franklin Grove Living and Rehab.
Cremation rites have been accorded with burial of cremated remains to take place at Rosehill Cemetery in Shabbona at a later date. Arrangements by the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy. Online condolences can be left at www.thejonesfh.com.
Doyle was born on Oct. 3, 1942 in Fleming County, Kentucky the daughter of Roy and Delphia (Connelly) Farris. Mildred worked at Creative Calligraphy in Dekalb, Mayrath Industries, and Prairie Crossing Assisted Living in Shabbona prior to her retirement.
Mildred married James Carl Doyle on Dec. 22, 1962 in Fleming County, Kentucky. She enjoyed camping with her husband at Woodhaven Lakes Association. He preceded her in death on June 29, 2016. She is also preceded in death by her grandson Mathew James Rood, infant granddaughter Patricia Rood, two brothers Charles Farris and Glen Farris, and one sister Eldred (Donnie) Warder.
Mildred is survived by her daughter Patricia (Vern) Kuper of Amboy, son Jeff (partner, Helen) Doyle of Rockford, five grandchildren Kayla (Nate) Brown, Natalyn (Isaac) Puckett, Jake (Samantha) Doyle, Christine (Ben) Brown, Sarah Doyle, 13 great grandchildren, one sister Shirley Stevenson of Flemingburg KY, and many nieces and nephews.
