AMBOY – U.S. Senator Dick Durbin has awarded the Amboy Fire Protection District with the SAMHSA Rural EMS Training and Equipment award before.
Now, he is doing it again, as Amboy was selected for the 2024 federal grant award totaling $169, 648.
Jeff Bryant Sr., former Amboy Fire Chief, wrote the grant.
“The $169,648 is for education, equipment, and PPE for ambulances and EMTs. It’s for new people becoming EMTs or EMTs becoming paramedics,” Bryant Sr. said. “It will cover the cost of education people in new roles in the district.”
