DIXON — Eric E. Helander, 68, of Dixon, died Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at his home.

He was a brick mason by trade and owned Helander Masonry, retiring in 2009.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Dixon, followed by a 1 p.m. funeral service at the church, with Pastor David W. Schweppe, officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

Mr. Helander was born May 26, 1948, in Dixon, the son of Harold and Charlotte (Bowers) Helander. He married Diane Musselman on February 2, 2003, in Hawaii.  Eric was a veteran of the United States Army. He enjoyed traveling, playing cards, driving his corvette, and motorcycles.

Eric is survived by his wife, Diane, of Dixon; one step-daughter, Lynnsey Landis, of Sterling; two brothers, Jock (Maria) and Richard (Doris), both of Dixon; one sister, Linda, of Dixon; one half-sister, Judith;  and one granddaughter, Emma Landis.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Brenda Helander; and his dog, Bucky.

A memorial has been established to Disabled Veterans.
