We are happy to announce we have entered a sweepstakes through T-Mobile to try to win $5,000 or more. Help us add to our entries by posting your photos to Instagram, tagging @AmboyILClippers & @tmobile, and then adding the hashtags #FN5GL & #Sweepstakes.

The agricultural department repainted the classroom this past weekend to blue and gold, FFA colors. The small engines classes will be working on two-stroke engines and are always looking for old weed-eaters or chain saws that don’t work anymore to take them apart and reassemble to learn how the parts interact with one another.

At Amboy High School, we attempt to get students into as many career internships, vocational experiences, or observations as possible. Multiple years ago, we started a class called tech help, where high school students could work with our technology department repairing Chromebooks, running wire, and helping solve classroom tech issues.

Michael Shoemaker has been in the tech help class since his sophomore year and has proven to be an invaluable asset. He is exceptionally reliable and can be trusted to handle any task assigned to him. Frequently, when faced with multiple tasks at once, he takes the initiative and effectively resolves them independently.

Last year, he played a key role in initiating in-house repairs for the Chromebooks. Over the summer, amidst numerous projects, he assisted with rewiring the District Office and the Central Library, and he helped set up and get the new Crow’s Nest camera operational. With the start of the school year, his responsibilities now include monitoring and addressing daily tickets, reviewing Chromebooks in need of repair, and tackling any new projects that arise.

This week is homecoming and students have spent their time during homecoming planning their skits for homecoming week, their hallway decorations, and their teams for PowderBuff.

Thursday night is skit night, in the high school gym starting at 7pm. Homecoming King and Queen will be announced at the end of the evening.

Friday is the parade starting from the high school at 2:30pm with the football game following at 7pm. Announcement of the court from both Amboy and LaMoille will start about 6:30pm.
