AMBOY — Clarence "Bud" Morrissey Jr., of Amboy, died on Friday, Feb. 26, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born on March 13, 1935 in Dixon, the son of Clarence and Margaret (Friel) Morrissey. Clarence was a farmer in the Walton area and was also a Journeyman Machinist at the Henry Pratt Company in Dixon for over 34 years. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Walton, the Amboy Lions Club, AA for 34 years, Shady Oaks Country Club, and the class of 1952 from Community High School / Newman Central Catholic High School.

On April 30, 1955 Clarence married Joyce Gorzney in Morrison.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Tom Morrissey, and sister, Regina Morrissey.

Clarence is survived by his wife, Joyce, children; Edward Morrissey, of Amboy, Robert Joseph Morrissey, of Amboy, Clarence Edward (Keri) Morrissey, of Warrensburg, Mo., John (Jan) Morrissey, of Dixon, Ann (Richard) Rutherford, of Harmon, Elizabeth Bontz, of Amboy, Patricia (Gary) Coppotelli, of Ashland, Mo, Margaret (Sharon) DeBerry, of Rockford, and Catherine (Jim) Decker, of Amboy. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

There will be a private family graveside service on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at St. Patrick Cemetery in Amboy. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established and donations can be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society at St Patrick Catholic Church in Amboy.
