AMBOY — Cecil C. Eisenberg, 94, of Amboy, died Sunday, March 7, 2021, at Franklin Grove Living and Rehab. Center.
He was born Aug. 7, 1926, in Amboy, the son of Henry and Marie (Zimmerly) Eisenberg. Cecil had been a farmer, owned Eisenberg Trading Post in Amboy and had also worked for Central Foundations prior to retirement.
He was a veteran of the Army and was a member of the Amboy American Legion Post and St. Patrick Catholic Church.
He was a fan of the Green Bay Packers, St. Louis Cardinals and enjoyed hunting fishing and playing softball.
Cecil married Mary Margaret "Peggy" McFadden on Aug. 22, 1953 in Dixon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Francis Eisenberg; grandson, Ryan Glaser; brothers, Ralph, Bill, Lyle and Leo Eisenberg; and sisters, Ella Halsey, Florence Schnell, Irene Wilson and Ethel Murphy.
Cecil is survived by his wife, Peggy; children, Rosemarie (Bruce) Langholf, of Dixon, and John (Isabel) Glaser, of Amboy; grandchildren, Ronda Scott, Robby Ewald, Joshua (Kylee) Glaser, Colleen (Mike) Wilson, Teresa (Fermin) Saucedo; and 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Rose Mary Liston, of Amboy.
Funeral services will be on Friday, March 12, 2021, beginning with a 10:30 a.m. prayer service in the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy followed by a 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Amboy. Burial with Military Honors by the Amboy American Legion Post will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery in Amboy. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rosary at 7 p.m.
