DIXON — Billy Joe “Tink” McCoy, 67, of Dixon, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at CGH Hospital in Sterling.

He was Homecoming King at Amboy High School in 1969 and graduated in 1970. Billy worked for Dixon Web for 50 years prior his retirement.

Billy was born on Dec. 10, 1951, in Dixon, the son of Rueben Lee and Hedy (Logan) McCoy. He married Susan (nee: Haenitsch) Summers known as “Papa and Ami” they have been inseparable for 40 years, married 17 of those years on Feb. 23, 2002 in Dixon. Billy enjoyed riding his motorcycle, but most of all loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Susan; seven children, Lisa Henegar, of Dixon, Laura (Andy) Atkinson, of Franklin Grove, Leslie Lauzon, of Franklin Grove, Scott (Christine) Lauzon, of Freeport, Troy Bradley, of Dixon, Gordon (Linda Hendrickson) Bradley, of Rock Falls, and Teresa Bradley, of Dixon; 24 grandchildren: Kyle Bradley, Kristi Scott, Matthew Reynolds, Stephanie Reynolds, Nathan Lauzon, Mandy Dummer, Stevie Dummer, Michelle Atkinson, Andrew Atkinson, Sisi Atkinson Williams, David Atkinson, Erik Atkinson, Brian Atkinson, Brendon Atkinson, Sara Thompson, Brittany Pottorff, Katy Lauzon, Joey Lauzon, Kassie Lauzon, Cory Bradley, Jacob Bradley, Jozlyn Bradley and Lisa Hendrickson; beloved Papa to numerous great-grandchildren and  great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Jim McCoy, of Pensacola, Fla., Tony (Diane) McCoy, of Amboy and Tim (Connie) McCoy, of Amboy; and one step-sister Cindy (Dan) Anderson, of Amboy; and many nieces and nephews.

Billy is preceded in death by his parents and one infant sister, Dara Jeanette McCoy.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Cremation Rites have been accorded.

Honorary pallbearers are Kyle Bradley, Anakin Bradley, Scott Lauzon, Troy Bradley, Gordon Bradley, Cory Bradley, Jake Bradley, Matt Reynolds, Andy Atkinson, David Atkinson, Erik Atkinson, Brian Atkinson, Brandon Atkinson, Stevie Dummer, Joey Lauzon and Nathan Lauzon.

A memorial has been established.

Arrangements were completed by Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon.
