ASHTON – There were many saviors on Thursday, May 2 for the Amboy baseball team on the road in Ashton, but the first one to leap off the box score is junior Eddie Jones.
Jones hit a home run in the Northwest Upstate Illini Conference contest to seal the deal against rival Ashton-Franklin Center.
In the top of the third inning, Amboy scored two runs and added two in the top of the fourth including the home run.
AFC scored three in the fourth inning to fall a run short.
For the Clippers, senior Landon Montavon scored a run and hit a single, junior Dylan Merriman scored a run, and sophomore Rylan McNinch hit a double and scored a run.
