Shortly before graduating from Amboy High School, Lucas Blanton made his decision to advance to the next level in education and in wrestling official by signing to Illinois Wesleyan University.
Blanton, middle, celebrated his decision with his mother Lisa Trader, left, and father Steve Blanton, right, as well as Amboy wrestling coach Brent Montavon, and his siblings.
According to Montavon, Blanton’s wrestling scholarship is the first since 2006, while the only other two were in 1990 and 1985.
