CHARLESTON – The Amboy co-op boys track and field team had one representative at the IHSA Class 1A State Track and Field Meet preliminaries on Thursday, May 23 at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston.
Senior Ian Sundberg, from LaMoille High School, made the last track meet of the season in the shot put.
On Thursday, he threw a 45-foot 5.75 inch shot for 21st in Class 1A.
Before the state meet, Sundberg said he was happy he made it and it didn’t matter what place he finished in, he was excited for the opportunity to be a state qualifier before he graduated high school.
