AMBOY – In less than three minutes in the first quarter of the Amboy Girls Holiday Basketball Tournament Championship on Friday, Dec. 29, the Lady Clippers found themselves trailing Newman by seven as the Comets drained three 3-pointers.

The Amboy girls basketball team moved to 9-4 with a 51-40 non-conference win against Bureau Valley on Thursday, Dec. 21.

The Amboy wrestling team had a tough time against annual juggernaut Byron on Tuesday, Dec. 19, but bounced back with a strong showing in a Riverdale quadrangular on Wednesday, Dec. 20.

AMBOY – Amboy High School senior Brennan Blaine will have one more high school football game to play in as he has been chosen to participate in the 2024 Illinois Coaches Association Shrine football game. The contest will take place on Saturday, June 15 at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington. Kickoff is at 11 a.m.

The Amboy boys basketball team is on track to its season goal of improving from game to game.

As usual, the Amboy wrestling team grappled on many mats this week as they hosted West Carroll on Thursday, Dec. 14 and competed in the Stillman Valley Tournament on Saturday, Dec. 16.

Two weeks ago, the Amboy girls basketball team dropped two hard fought games to rivals, Eastland and Ashton-Franklin Center.

AMBOY – With only one game on the slate during the week, the Amboy boys basketball team didn’t have to travel far as they played Earlville Wednesday, Dec. 6 at home.

AMBOY – The Amboy wrestling team met some of the area’s best wrestlers during Friday and Saturday’s, Dec. 8-9, Reaper Classic in Plano.
