AMBOY – Amboy Community Unit School District #272 is similar to most education districts where they’d like to see students and staff blossom with opportunities.

AMBOY – If you asked Joe Heavner where he spent his summer vacations, he wouldn’t say Disney World, a secluded tropical island, or a music festival.

Maurice Zimmerlein, the president of the Sublette Farm Toy & Antique Tractor Show Board, said the turnout for both Saturday, March 16 and Sunday, March 17 were fantastic. The buildings were full to the brim with farm toy shoppers and onlookers while each of the approximate 120 tractors were examined. Ethan Orzech’s model train display was also a hit.

SUBLETTE – Sublette Village President John Stenzel had something he wanted to address at the March 11 Sublette Village Board meeting at the Ellice Dinges Center.

DIXON – On March 15, 2024, at approximately 3:26 P.M., Deputies from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on IL Rt. 26 near South Eldena Rd. in rural Dixon, Lee County, Illinois. The vehicle was pulling a small utility trailer with no visible registration. 

AMBOY – On March 15, 2024, at approximately 3:24 P.M, Deputies from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of US Route 30 and US Route 52, in rural Amboy, Lee County, Illinois.

SUBLETTE – During the 1990s and the early 2000s, Max Armstrong spent many second weekends of March at the Sublette Farm Toy & Antique Tractor Show.

SUBLETTE – Albert Borell isn’t going to be at the Sublette Farm Toy & Antique Tractor Show in its entirety on Saturday and Sunday.

SPRINGFIELD – More than 400 Illinois Farm Bureau members gathered in Springfield for IFB’s Governmental Affairs Leadership Conference (GALC) on Feb. 20. Local, state, and national political leaders and legislators met with Farm Bureau leaders from across the state, including six members of Lee County Farm Bureau to discuss IFB’s 2024 legislative priorities.

AMBOY – During the last two Februarys, the first round of the seventh grade boys basketball IESA Class 4A State Tournaments have featured a few similarities.

AMBOY – Most of the music, drama, and theater departments participants at Amboy High School were excited when they found out what play was going to be performed in the spring. 

AMBOY – Mike and Mary Anderson are not new to owning businesses. 

AMBOY — Donna Unrath, 55, of Amboy, was sentenced on Tuesday, Feb. 20 in Lee County court in Dixon after pleading guilty on Nov. 20, 2023, for embezzling more than $330,000 from Woodhaven Lakes in Sublette.

AMBOY – Spell ‘hilarious’. That’s the word to describe this year’s spring musical presented by Amboy School High School. “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” is scheduled for March 8, 9, and 10 at the Amboy High School Auditorium.

At approximately 10:26 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 18, deputies from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to 291 IL Route 2, in Dixon, for a report of motor vehicle theft.
