Celebrate Jane Fenwick turning 100

DIXON – Jane Fenwick is celebrating her 100th birthday!

She grew up outside of Harmon and is a 1942 graduate of Catholic Community High School in Sterling.

Fenwick worked at the Green River Ordnance Plant during WWII. In 1945, she married Raphael (Ray) F. Fenwick. They had 13 children, three of whom are deceased.

The family matriarch graduated from Dixon State School of Practical Nursing in 1966 and was employed at the state school for 20 years. She resided in Amboy 25 years, Dixon for 20 years, and faithfully attended St Patrick’s Church in both Amboy and Dixon.

A past president of the Amboy Women’s Club, Jane also volunteered at Amboy Depot Days, and at St. Patrick’s Church in Amboy for funeral dinners and the pantry. As a life-long practice she quietly and generously helps where she sees a need.

Besides her 10 living children, Jane has 17 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

Friends and relatives are invited to her open house from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, March 23 at Bethel Church, 131 North Court Street in Dixon.
