AMBOY – On March 15, 2024, at approximately 3:24 P.M, Deputies from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of US Route 30 and US Route 52, in rural Amboy, Lee County, Illinois.
Investigating Deputy’s learned that a 2015 Chrysler 200, driven by 48-year-old Cynthia M. James of Decatur, Illinois, was traveling northbound on US Route 52. A 2010 Hyundai Elantra, driven by 43-year-old Brett A. Armstrong of Amboy, Illinois, was turning south bound onto US Route 52 from US Route 30. The 2015 Chrysler failed to stop at the intersection of US Route 30 and US Route 52, striking the 2015 Hyundai. Both drivers were transported to KSB Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Cynthia James was issued a citation for Failing to Yield Right-of-Way/Intersection.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Amboy Fire Department, Sublette Fire Department, Dixon Rural Fire Department, and Advance EMS.
