AMBOY – There has been a lot of success surrounding Amboy High School as of late.

DIXON – At approximately 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, deputies from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a man with a gun on McGrirr Road near Interstate 39.

STERLING – Two 4-H clubs in Whiteside County were recently honored for their achievements with a statewide Excel Club Award.

AMBOY – Addison Shaw, daughter of Jay and Beth Shaw, has been named the Amboy Student of the Month for February.

DIXON – The Lee County Sheriff’s Office and the Lee County State’s Attorney’s Office announce the following charges that stem from the investigation of a fatal hit-and-run traffic accident that occurred near the intersection of Sterling Road and Walton Road at approximately 9:29 p.m. on December 4th.

AMBOY – The Third Annual Trivia Night hosted by the Amboy FFA Alumni comes to the Amboy Community Building on Saturday, March 2.

The Amboy Community Building could hardly contain the attendees of the Amboy Lions Club’s and Lee Center Church’s Chili Luncheon & Basket Raffle on Sunday, Jan. 28.

   At approximately 3:05 p.m. Monday, Jan. 15, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office was notified a train from Union Pacific Railroad had struck a tractor-trailer that was blocking the railway on Willow Road at Track Road just east of Franklin Grove. 

SUBLETTE – Snow and below zero temperatures were not going to stop the Village of Sublette meeting on Monday, Jan. 15 at the Ellice Dinges Center.

The American Red Cross is experiencing an emergency blood shortage as the nation faces the lowest number of people giving blood in 20 years. The Red Cross blood supply has fallen to critically low levels across the country, and blood and platelet donors are urged to make a donation appointment to help alleviate the shortage and help ensure lifesaving medical procedures are not put on hold.

AMBOY – During an informational hearing Wednesday, Jan. 3 at the Amboy fire station, Amboy Fire Chief Jeff Bryant Sr. and Harmon Fire Chief Dave Carrington addressed the matter of the Harmon Fire Department merging with the Amboy Fire Department.
