AMBOY – Natalie Pratt held up a corn cob and pronounced, “Corn is the best superpower,” to a group of fifth graders Friday, April 19 at the Lee County Ag Expo on the grounds of the Lee County 4-H Center.

AMBOY – Dinges Fire Company is pleased to announce it has hired Tim Salo as Fire Apparatus Specialist. Tim recently retired from the Byron Fire Protection District (BFPD) in Byron, Illinois as Deputy Chief. He spent 32 plus years of service at BFPD. Tim will work alongside Orin Snodgrass, who he worked with at BFPD for 24 years, selling fire trucks throughout the Midwest.

AMBOY – The Amboy City Council meeting held Wednesday, April 15 had many options to discuss as projects are keeping Mayor Frank Stenzel and the aldermen busy.

AMBOY – Yvonne Vicks and Andrew Full began the Amboy School Board meeting on Thursday, April 18 with a slide show presentation of Amboy Junior High School testing results from STAR Assessments, Learning Renewal Interim Assessments (LRIA), and Response to Intervention (RTI).

SUBLETTE – Last month, chickens were addressed at the Sublette Village Board meeting as Lee County mentioned they may change the county’s residential zoning ordinance to include residents to house chickens in their yards.

Amboy senior Elizabeth Clarida walked across the Sauk Valley Community Stage Friday, April 19 to accept her certificate for her Pathways Education endorsement.
