A 35-acre timber fire engulfed property on Halligan and McCoy Road in Amboy. There were no injuries or fatalities.
Many departments and counties were involved to extingush the fire as brush trucks came from Lee County (Amboy, Sublette, West Brooklyn, Dixon City, Dixon Rural, and Lee), Whiteside County (Morrison, Prophetstown-Lyndon, Prophetstown, and Rock Falls), Ogle County (Ogle-Lee/Flagg Center, Oregon), Bureau County (Ohio), LaSalle County (Spring Valley).
Tenders were provided from Amboy, Sublette, Franklin Grove, Westbrooklyn, and Sterling (Whiteside Co.). Amboy provided an ambulance, and engine arrived from Ashton, and chiefs from Amboy, Dixon Rural, and Lee were on sight.
