DIXON – At approximately 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, deputies from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a man with a gun on McGrirr Road near Interstate 39.

Through the deputie’s investigation, Salvador Lopez-Tejeda, 33, of Steward, was arrested and charged with three Class A Misdemeanors: Possession of a Firearm Without Requisite FOID Card, Possession of a Firearm Ammunition Without Requisite FOID Card, and Aggravated Assault.

All charges are merely an allegation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Illinois State Police Troop 1.
