FRANKLIN GROVE – Janet "Jan" Sue Logan, 82, of Franklin Grove, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family. She worked as a food service manager at Franklin Grove Nursing Home, NIU, and AFC Middle School, until her retirement.

FRANKLIN GROVE – Janet "Jan" Sue Logan, 82, of Franklin Grove, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family. She worked as a food service manager at Franklin Grove Nursing Home, NIU, and AFC Middle School, until her retirement.

Logan was born on June 15, 1941, in Franklin Grove, the daughter of James Robert and Alberta "Pauline" (Showalter) Wiseman.  Jan will be remembered for her dedication to her family and special friends. She always had a willing ear and a big heart. Much of her time was spent talking to them on the phone or penning cards and letters. She was the best grandma and loved being with her grand and great-grandchildren. Whether it was just for a ride or to a new thrift store, she was always ready to jump in the car and go. She loved keeping up with the news and her cat, Socks, never left her side.

Logan is survived by her four children, Debra (Tom) Mead, of Amboy, Julie Logan, of Carol Stream, Marty (Loretta) Logan, of Franklin Grove, Jeri Dempsey, of Franklin Grove; eight grandchildren, Shawn Morris, Daniel Logan, Michael Dempsey, Jamie Logan, Samantha Logan, Eric Mead, Matthew Logan, Anna Logan; seven great-grandchildren, Landon, Callum, Avery, Jazzy, Davin, Lakelan, and Noah Logan; one sister, Shirley Hann, of Franklin Grove, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Jan was preceded in death by her parents, J. Robert and A. Pauline Wiseman; one brother and sister-in-law, Donald (Frances) Wiseman, and brother-in-law, Stan Hann.

A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, in Dixon, with Pastor Jack Briggs, officiating. Burial will follow at Franklin Grove Cemetery in Franklin Grove.
