HARMON – Grace Elaine Willstead, 83, of Harmon, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2024, at Froedtert Hospital, in Milwaukee, WI, surrounded by her family.

She worked in the bakery & deli at Wallace's Red and White Grocery, in Walnut, and as an associate at Walmart in Rock Falls for 25 years before retiring in 2006.

Grace was born on June 25, 1940, in Hamilton Township, the daughter of John and Lucinda (Portner) Jacobs.

She married Keith Willstead on June 25, 1960, in Princeton.  Grace was an active member of the Harmon United Methodist Church. She was always involved in the church activities. She loved to cook, bake, crafts, and spend time out in the garden. Above all, Grace loved her family and enjoyed spending her time with her grandchildren.

Grace is survived by her husband of 63 years, Keith Willstead, of Harmon; five sons, Ron (Deb) Willstead, of Harmon, Rick (Beth) Willstead, of Princeton, Rod (Jackie) Willstead, of East Moline, Roger (Joy) Willstead, of Manlius, Ray (Dee) Willstead, of Burlington, WI; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Willstead was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Earl Jacobs, John Jacobs, Jr.; and four sisters, Helen DeWaele, Lucille Bohn, Dora Dimmig, Gladys Willstead.

A memorial visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. and the memorial service will begin at 4 p.m. at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon with Pastor Leanne Keate, officiating. Cremation Rites have been accorded.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Harmon United Methodist Church.
