LEE COUNTY — The General Election is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2018. The polls for the General Election will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., on Nov. 6.

On the ballot in the General Election are the Illinois state offices of: Governor/Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, Comptroller and Treasurer.

For Governor, voters will decide between Democratic candidate JB Pritzkerf, Republican candidate incumbent Bruce Rauner, Libertarian candidate Grayson Kash Jackson, and Conservative party candidate William “Sam” McCann.

In the Attorney General race, voters will choose between Democratic candidate Kwame Raoul, Republican Candidate Erika Henry and Libertarian candidate Bubba Harsy. One of the three candidates will replace current Illinois States Attorney Lisa Madigan, a Democrat, who is leaving office after 16 years in the position.

For Secretary of State, voters will decide between Democratic incumbent Jesse White, Republican Jason Helland, and Libertarian Steve Dutner.

For State Comptroller, voters will cast their vote between Democratic incumbent Susana A. Mendoza, Republican Darlene Senger, or Libertarian Claire Bell.

For State Treasurer, voters will decide between Democrat incumbent Michael W. Frerichs, Republican Jim Dodge and Libertarian Michael Leheney.

Voters will also decide who will be their representation both on the national level and the state level.

For the Representative in Congress in the 16thDistrict, voters will decide between Republican incumbent Adam Kinzinger and Democratic opponent Sara Dady.

At the state level, voters in the State Senate 45thLegislative District, voters will decide between Democrat David Simpson and Republican Brian W. Stewart. These candidates will be vying for the position being vacated by Republican State Senator Tim Bivins.

At the state level, voters in the General Assembly 19thRepresentative District will decide between incumbent Republican Tom Demmer and Democrat challenger Amy Davis.

Republican Incumbent State Representative in the 74thDistrict Dan Swanson is running unopposed.

Lee County officials running unopposed include: Cathy Myers for Lee County Clerk; Paula Meyer for Lee County Treasurer; John C. Simonton for Lee County Sheriff; and Robert Sondgeroth for Regional Superintendent of Schools Lee, Ogle and Whiteside Counties.

For Lee County Board, only three candidates are running for three seats in each of the four districts.

Amboy Schools will be asking voters to approve a $15.8 million in school building bonds to improve the site of, build, equip additions to and alter, repair and equip the Amboy High School Building to replace the Amboy Junior High School.

Vote by mail and early voting began on Sept. 27. Vote by mail signed applications will be accepted through Thursday, Nov. 1, and are available in the Lee County Clerk’s office to registered voters. Applications are on the county clerk’s website or a voter can contact the county clerk’s office.

Early voting must be conducted in person Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:15 a.m. and 4:15 p.m. and on Saturday, Nov. 3, from 9 a.m. to noon.

Votes cast during this time will be not counted until Election Day.

The last day to register to vote in the General Election was Oct. 9.
