SUBLETTE - Thomas E. Fassler, 65, of Sublette passed away peacefully Aug. 4, 2019 at Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 9 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Sublette with Rev. Randy Fronek officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Sublette. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 8 at the church with the Rosary recited at 3:30 p.m. and also from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Friday at the church. Arrangements were handled by the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy.

Tom was born May 25, 1954 in Dixon to Walter and Mary (Ackert) Fassler. He married his beloved wife, Susan Bulfer on Sept. 24, 1977 in Sublette.

Survivors include his wife; three children, Nicholas (Beth) Fassler of Raleigh, N.C., Abram (Taureen) Fassler of Elk Grove Village, and Lauren (Jason) Thorn of Schiller Park; five grandchildren, Mary Alice Fassler, Graham Fassler, Jackson, Charlie and Adelynn Thorn; seven siblings, Theresa Parsons of Bolingbrook, Carl (Debbie) Fassler of Dixon, Robert (Cindy) Fassler of Dixon, Francis (Raeann) Fassler of Dixon, Patricia (Mark) Jordan of Dixon, Anthony (Berta) Fassler of Mt. Morris and Margaret “Peggy” (Mark) Menke of Healy, Alaska.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Not only was Tom a family man and life-long farmer, he also had a deep love for the outdoors. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren while teaching them about hunting, fishing and farming. He spent many evenings watching the sun set with his family, sipping whiskey and listening to blues music.
