AMBOY — Stephen K. Westlund, 67, of Amboy, died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2018, at home, following a life long battle with kidney disease. He was born June 17, 1951, in Kewanee, the son of Gene and Caryl (Thurwacter) Westlund.

He had been a Group Leader for General Electric in Morrison for 32 years prior to his retirement in 2001.

Stephen was a lifetime member of the NRA, and a member of the Harley-Davidson Owners Group.  He was an avid gun collector, and enjoyed riding his Harley in Wisconsin. He also loved fishing in the Green River and spending time with his cat "Callie." His lifelong dream came true when he built a log cabin on his farm where he and his wife raised Labrador Retrievers. The most important people in his life were his wife, his daughter, and his "Grandma T." He lived his life with no regrets.

Stephen married Ann Wittenauer in Camdenton, Mo., Sept. 1, 1995.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Melissa (Dave) Burress, of Prophetstown; two step-daughters Stephanie Butler, of Dixon and Starla (Matt Coley) Pfeifer, of Sterling; one step-son, Jamie Pfeifer, of Colona; six grandchildren, Brady Butler, Tukker, Alex, and Drew Tarner, Nick

(Courtney) Taylor and Justin Taylor; four great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Jeanne (Steve) Peska, of Rock Falls; two brothers, Tom (Bonnie) Westlund, of Walnut, and John Westlund, of Rock Falls.

Cremation rites have been accorded.  A celebration of Stephen's life will be held from noon – 3 p.m., on Friday, Nov. 16, 2018, at the VFW Post 540 in Dixon. Please dress casual. A memorial has been established.
