MAYTOWN — Richard L. "Dick" Cardot, 79, of Maytown, reunited with his wife Mary Ann, on Friday, Feb. 18, 2022 at Heritage Health in Mendota.
He was born Feb. 26, 1942, in Amboy the son of Gilbert and Betty Jane (Slagle) Cardot. He had farmed the family farm in Maytown where he was born and raised and worked for the Illinois Department of Transportation for 30 years retiring as Sign Shop Foreman. Dick enjoyed traveling with his wife to stock car and NASCAR races. They enjoyed card club and Dick enjoyed his "4:00" gathering with friends at the Long Branch.
Dick married Mary Ann Klein July 13, 1963 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mendota. She preceded him in death Feb. 6, 2020. He was also preceded in death by his parents.
Dick is survived by his children, Rick (Deb) Cardot, of LaMoille, Denise Cardot, of Morton, and Kris (Tom) Goodwin, of Dixon; two grandchildren, Stephen (Ashlea) Cardot, of Ohio, Emily Cardot, of Deerfield.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2022, at St Patrick Catholic Church in Maytown. Burial will follow in St Patrick Cemetery in Maytown. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m., at St Patrick Catholic Church in Maytown with a Rosary at 3:45 p.m. Visitation will also be on Saturday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. A memorial has been established.
