Opponent pulls away in fourth quarter in Amboy’s loss Oct. 11

AMBOY – Lanark Eastland-Pearl City pulled away in the fourth quarter for a 27-6 triumph over Amboy-LaMoille in a Northwest Upstate Illini Conference South Division game on Oct. 11 at the AHS field.

The Clippers scored their lone touchdown in the first half on a 21-yard TD pass from Preston Henkel to Marcus Winn to pull within 8-6.

But that was all of the scoring for Amboy-LaMoille on the night as Eastland-Pearl City tallied 19 straight points over the remainder of the contest.

Austin Norman rushed for 104 yards for the Clippers.

Amboy-LaMoille (0-7, 0-4) will be at home again on Friday, Oct. 18 as it welcomes Milledgeville (1-6, 1-4) to the AHS field. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
