AMBOY — The Amboy Lady Clippers posted two more wins to remain perfect on the season, starting with a 53-20 NUIC romp at Milledgeville on Dec. 10.

Amboy zoomed out to a 19-3 first-quarter lead and cruised the rest of the way.

Abi Payne dumped in 17 points on seven of 11 shooting from the field, while Mallory Powers made seven of 12 shots and finished with 16 markers. Payne also had five assists and three steals. Ashley Althaus and Eden Lindenmeyer contributed six points apiece. Althaus tied Kyleigh Donna for game-high rebounds with seven each. Gabby Jones added four points and five rebounds, Olivia Dinges handled four boards, and Brianna Blaine and Haidyn Zimmerly rounded out the scoring with two points apiece.

Amboy hosted Erie-Prophetstown on Dec. 14 and the Lady Clippers posted a 62-10 win.

Amboy enjoyed a 32-3 advantage after the opening stanza as Powers poured in 17 points. She ended with 24 points on 10 of 13 shooting, including three field goals from the three-point arc. Powers added five assists, four steals and four rebounds. Payne drilled 12 points, dished out 12 assists and had five steals, while Althaus contributed eight points, six steals and five rebounds. Also making contributions for the 10-0 Lady Clippers were Jones (seven points, six rebounds), Donna (six points, six rebounds), Dinges (five points, six rebounds) and Blaine (six rebounds).
