AMBOY – Morrison cruised past Amboy, 9-1, in the varsity softball season-opener on March 16 at the AHS field.

Morrison held a 1-0 lead into the third when it erupted for five runs to take control. Amboy’s lone tally came in the sixth.

Hannah Blanton, Maeve Larson and Haleigh Stenzel each had one hit for the Lady Clippers.

Blanton was the losing pitcher.

Bureau Valley handed the Lady Clippers a 17-0 loss on March 17 at the AHS field. The game was halted after three innings.

Bureau Valley scored three runs in the first, nine in the second and five in the third.

Tyrah Vaessen had the only hit for the Lady Clippers.

Baylie Nickel took the pitching loss for AHS.
