The Amboy girls basketball team split its two games in the third week of January as the Lady Clippers beat Polo, 42-30, Wednesday, Jan. 17 at Polo, and lost to Eastland in a close game, 48-45, Friday, Jan. 19 at Amboy.
Against Polo, Senior Meave Larson recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds, while junior Addison Pertell scored 10 points to go with her five assists and four steals.
Also aiding Amboy in the win were junior Tyrah Vaessen with eight points, five rebounds, and four steals, senior Elly Jones’ six points and five rebounds, and junior Emily Sachs tallied eight rebounds and four points.
At home against Eastland, Jones and Vaessen tied for a team high 11 points, while Jones added seven rebounds and four assists, and Vaessen recorded four rebounds and four steals.
Sachs had nine points, Larson added five points, sophomore Kiera Karlson hauled in five rebounds, and Pertell snagged four steals.
