AMBOY – The annual City of Amboy Memorial Day Program will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 27 at Veteran’s Park in Amboy.
The prelude speaker is Rear Admiral Jack Scorby, USN retired, who will be introduced by Amboy American Legion Pths/LaVelle Post #453 Commander Jack Mead after he hosts the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
The American Legion will post colors, the Amboy High School Band will play the “Star Spangled Banner”, an opening prayer will be given by Father Gow of St. Patrick Catholic Church, AHS senior Austin Shugars is reading the Gettysburg Address and General Logan’s Orders, and the AHS band will conclude the service by playing each US military branch’s service song and taps.
