AMBOY — The Amboy varsity girls had their first game of the week get postponed with Forreston. Next up, Fulton journeyed to Amboy on Thursday night. The game was very physical, but Amboy came away with a 36-26 victory.

Lady Clippers continue winning streak to 4

AMBOY — The Amboy varsity girls had their first game of the week get postponed with Forreston. Next up, Fulton journeyed to Amboy on Thursday night. The game was very physical, but Amboy came away with a 36-26 victory.

Elly Jones led Amboy with 16 points, while adding 3 assists and 6 steals. Olivia Dinges was next with 8 points and 10 rebounds. Maeve Larson added 4 points, 5 boards and 3 steals. Courtney Ortgiesen also scored 4 points while grabbing 11 rebounds. Olivia Miller dropped in 4 points and also had 2 steals.

Saturday afternoon, Amboy traveled to Shabbona for their ninth game of the season. The Lady Clippers jumped ahead and led after the first quarter, 15-4. Amboy won every quarter and came away with a 47-23 road win.

Olivia Dinges had a career high 20 points. Dinges did a little bit of everything with 8 rebounds, 5 steals and drew a charge. After that, it was balanced scoring with five players scoring between 4 and 7 points. Lexi Ketchum had her best game of the year with 7 points and 7 rebounds. Olivia Miller and Maeve Larson both scored 6 points. Larson added 6 boards. Elly Jones and Courtney Ortgiesen chipped in with 4 point apiece. Ortgiesen was in foul trouble the whole game but still managed 5 rebounds. Jones handed out 4 assists and had 3 steals. All 11 players played in the game.

Amboy now has won four straight games for a 6-3 record. The game scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 18, will be played on Saturday, Feb. 5, 2022.
