James Warren “Hook” Hunt

FRANKLIN GROVE – James Warren “Hook” Hunt, 75, of Franklin Grove, passed away Thursday, Nov. 14, 2019, at Katherine Shaw Bethea Hospital, Dixon.

He worked as a meat cutter for Swift & Company and later for Dean Foods as a forklift driver. Jim was born, July 17, 1944, in Dixon, the son of Joseph “Joe” and Ruth (Delaughter) Hunt.

He married Vicki Thomas on July 31, 1964, in Oregon.

Jim loved hunting, fishing and being outdoors.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Vicki Hunt; one daughter, Colleen Hunt, of Franklin Grove; one son, Tommy (Connie) Hunt, of Sublette; one sister, Beverly Hunt, of Franklin Grove; four grandchildren, Tyler Hunt, Kayla Hunt, Kelly Engle, Paige Ellis; five great-grandchildren and one on the way; several nieces and nephews and many good friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Gary Hunt and special puppy, Lucky.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18, 2019, at the Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2019, at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, with Pastor Timothy Mitchell, officiating. Burial will be at Franklin Grove Cemetery in Franklin Grove.

A memorial has been established.
