AMBOY — Everett D. "Joe" Vivian, 77, of Amboy, passed away, in his home, surrounded by his family on Friday Jan 5, 2024.

A private graveside funeral service with military honors will be on Sunday Jan. 21, 2024, at Woodside Cemetery in Lee Center. A rescheduled celebration of life will follow at the VFW in Dixon from 1 to 4 p.m. A memorial has been established to the Lee County 4-H Center.

He was born on June 27, 1946 in Mendota, the son of Henry and Mildred (Wasson) Vivian. Joe was a licensed Cattle Dealer and Dairy Farmer. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and served his country in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion, former member of the Lions Club, American Hampshire Sheep Association, and the Illinois Holstein Association. Joe lived life to the fullest! He was one of the best story tellers and boy did he have some good stories to tell. After retiring from buying and selling cattle across the country, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and tending to his garden.

Joe married Theresa Liston on Oct. 4, 1969 in Amboy.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Joe is survived by his wife Theresa; children, Scott (Josie) Vivian, of Amboy and Stephanie (Kelley) Richardson, of Harmon. He was a proud Papa to eight grandchildren, Samantha (Noah) Evans, Mackenzie (Jacob) Ricketts, Courtney (Cody) Stahl, Brandi (Tim Thompson) Richardson, Cody (Sami Hatten) Richardson, Presley (Zachary Freeman) Richardson, Ryon (Delaney) Richardson, Lauren (Lane Christians) Richardson; and 13 great-grandchildren with two more on the way. He is also survived by four siblings, Evelyn Eisenberg, of Amboy, Robert (Glenda) Vivian, of Amboy, Linda (Ray) Ramsdell, of Franklin Grove, and Patricia (Rick) Summers, of Lee Center; a brother in law, Jim (Karen) Liston, of Indianapolis, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.
