MENDOTA - Darlene M. Burke, 91, of Mendota passed away Dec. 17, 2019 at the Mendota Lutheran Home surrounded by her loving family.

Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m. on Dec. 21 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Peterstown with Rev. Peter Pilon officiating. Burial was at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery. Visitation was from 3-7 p.m. on Dec. 20 at the Schwarz Funeral Home. Pallbearers were her grandsons, Adam and Steve Brodko, Tony Burke, Brandon, Eric and Ryan Donoho, Nick Needs, Josh Nowlin, Jacob Spiegel, Jeff Twardowski and Joe Wallery.

Darlene was born Oct. 18, 1928 in Mendota to John J. and Angeline (Metzen) Happ. She married Francis Burke on Feb. 14, 1953 in Peterstown. He preceded her in death on June 7, 2011.

Survivors include two sons, Thomas (Cathy) Burke of Mendota and Roger (Martha) Burke of Mendota; seven daughters, Pamela (Greg) Donoho of Fulton, Eileen (William) Twardowski of Peru, Diane Spiegel of Peru, Nancy (Frank) Brodko of Mendota, Janice (Steve) Nowlin of Mendota, Beverly (James) Wallery of The Woodlands, Texas and Barbara (George) Needs of Peru; 23 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, with one on the way; and one sister, Lucille Stadel of Henry.

She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers and five sisters.

Darlene was a homemaker and a member of the H.E.A. Home Extension, the Altar and Rosary Society, and Sts. Peter and Paul Church.
