AMBOY — Betty J. Kidd, 93, of Amboy, died Monday, Aug. 13, 2018, at Maple Crossing in Amboy.

She was born July 15, 1925, in Amboy, the daughter of Paul and Lena (Heckman) Wasson.

Betty had worked at the Green River Ordnance Plant and the Midwest Rug Factory in Amboy, as well as JC Penney and Montgomery Ward's in Dixon. She also helped her husband with the family farm.

She was a member of the United First Church in Amboy, and the church's Women's Club the Friendly Faithful Fellowship.

Betty married William R. Kidd at the United Methodist Church in Amboy March 22, 1952. He preceded her in death Sept. 10, 2010. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Debbie Lynn Kidd; and two brothers, Edwin and Vernon Wasson.

Survivors include a nephew, David Brandt.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, Aug. 17, 2018, in the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy with the Rev. Mark Glenn officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Repose Cemetery in Amboy. Visitation will be from 10 – 11 a.m., on Friday, in the funeral home.  Memorials can be made to the United First Church in Amboy or to the charity of the donors choice.
