OHIO — Allan J. Fitzpatrick, 67, of Ohio, IL, died Saturday, Aug. 24, 2019 at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton following a motorcycle accident. 

He was born Jan. 31, 1952, in Dixon, the son of Bernard and Charlotte (Goy) Fitzpatrick. Allan was a truck driver for Double D Express in LaSalle from 1989 until his retirement in 2014.

He enjoyed spoiling his wife and grandchildren, making sure they had plenty to eat. He made us laugh every day with his unique wit and humor. He was a proud man, but private. He loved his animals - both the ones indoors and all those outdoors. He took great pride in his yard and making it look beautiful through many hours of hard work and sweat.

He married Betty Gibb on Nov. 27, 1971.

He was preceded in death by his father, and two brothers, Mark and Paul Fitzpatrick.

Allan is survived by his wife, Betty; children, Anthony (Heather) Fitzpatrick, of Brookfield, and Heather Lance, of Dixon; three grandchildren, Kallyn and Karys Lance and Stephen Fitzpatrick; his mother, of Dixon; sister, Nancy (Dave) Durnen, of Amboy; brothers, Gerald (Kathy) Fitzpatrick, of Sun Prairie, Wis., and Joseph Fitzpatrick, of Dixon; sister in law, Rachael Fitzpatrick, of Ohio, IL.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m., on Friday, Aug. 30, 2019, at the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy. Visitation will be held from 4 – 6 p.m., on Friday, at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent online at www.thejonesfh.com.
