AMBOY – The Amboy volleyball team started the fourth week of the season by hosting Ashton-Franklin Center in Northwestern Illinois Conference South matches Tuesday, Sept. 17.
The Lady Clippers defeated the Lady Raiders 25-8, 25-23.
Junior Tyrah Vaessen led with five blocks, two kills, two aces and five digs, Junior Jillian Anderson added three kills, two aces, and six digs, and junior Jadyn Whelchel tallied 12 assists against AFC.
The junior varsity team won in two sets, 25-18, 25-22 and the freshman lost in two close sets 25-20 and 25-18.
Amboy was on the road for a NIUC South match against Milledgeville Wednesday, Sept. 18.
Vaessen and Anderson had two kills each, Whelchel recorded six assists, and Emersyn Noble had 10 digs, but the Lady Clippers fell to the Lady Missiles, 25-16, 25-12.
The Amboy junior varsity team lost 25-21, 19-25, 15-2, and the freshman fell 25-9, 25-15.
