WAYZATA, Minn. – James (Jim) Dean Donoho, 85, beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on April 10, 2024, in Wayzata, Minn. His family was by his side. Jim fought a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.

Jim was born on July 16, 1938, in Ottawa, to Don and Helen Donoho (Smith). Growing up with siblings, Don Jr., Gene, Doug, Linda, Becky and Greg, Jim was raised with strong family values and compassion.

Jim spent two years in the Marine Corps, which created in him a solid sense of honor and duty. In 1957, Jim started a lifelong journey with his beloved wife, Jane Young. Together, they shared over six decades of love, laughter, and cherished memories.  In retirement Jim and Jane spent the winters enjoying the warmth of Palm Springs.

Professionally, Jim dedicated 35 years of his life to United Parcel Service, where he served in management. His commitment, diligence, and leadership were truly exemplary, leaving a lasting impact on all those he worked with. After retiring from UPS Jim was involved in two small businesses, Writing Assistance, Inc., and Infinity Packaging Inc.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Jim found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid golfer and fisherman, finding solace and contentment in the great outdoors. However, his greatest source of happiness came from spending time with his family. He especially found joy in being “Papa” to his 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, whom he adored dearly.

Jim leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and resilience. Jim was preceded in death by parents, Donald and Helen Donoho; sisters, Margot and Linda; brothers, Donald Donoho Jr., Gene and Douglas. He is survived by his devoted wife, Jane; his children, James (Jim) Donoho Jr. (Tina), Lori Hartmann (Scott), and Scott Donoho (Kristi), as well as a host of extended family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

A service will be held Friday, June 7, 2024, at 11 a.m. at David Lee Funeral Home, 1220 E. Wayzata Boulevard, Wayzata, with visitation at 10 a.m. Lunch following. Private family burial.
