AMBOY – The Amboy volleyball team started Week 3 of the season in favorable fashion as it defeated LaMoille 25-6, 25-12 behind 15 kills and 10 aces on Monday, Sept. 9 at Amboy.

Amboy volleyball beats LaMoille; defeated by Oregon, Eastland

AMBOY The Amboy volleyball team started Week 3 of the season in favorable fashion as it defeated LaMoille 25-6, 25-12 behind 15 kills and 10 aces on Monday, Sept. 9 at Amboy.

The Clippers were at home for the second straight day when they hosted Oregon on Tuesday, Sept. 10. Amboy fell 25-22, 25-21.

Junior Peyton Payne led the squad with four kills, junior Jillian Anderson added three kills, senior Emersyn Noble recorded 10 digs, and senior Tyrah Vaessen tallied eight digs.

The junior varsity team defeated Oregon 25-16, 18-35, 15-11 and the freshman won 25-18, 25-17.

Amboy ended the week by traveling to Lanark to play Eastland High School, falling in a Northwest Upstate Illini Conference South Division contest, 25-22, 25-21.

For the Clippers, Vaessen and Anderson (three aces) had four kills each, Payne added three kills and two blocks, junior Jadyn Whelchel recorded 16 assists, and Noble finished with 13 digs.

The junior varsity team lost 25-20, 25-20, and the freshman fell 28-26, 25-11.
