LENA – A powerful Lena-Winslow team rolled to a 54-0 victory over the Amboy-LaMoille Clippers in a Northwest Upstate Illini Conference football game on Sept. 29 at Lena.
The Panthers, who are the top-ranked Class 1A team in the state, improved to 6-0, while the Clippers fell to 2-4 overall and 2-3 in league play. With the win, the Panthers qualified for the state playoffs for the 19th consecutive season.
The Clippers will try to remain in contention for a playoff bid when they host the Dakota Indians (5-1) in their Homecoming game on Friday, Oct. 6 at the AHS field. The sophomore kickoff is at 5:30 p.m. with the varsity game to follow at approximately 7:30 p.m.
