Lady Clippers fall short of first place at Forreston meet

FORRESTON – The Amboy-LaMoille girls’ track team came up just short of taking first place in a six-team meet at Forreston on April 2.

Dakota scored 120 points to edge out the Lady Clippers by two points. West Carroll (90), Rockford Christian (81), Forreston-Polo (75) and Earlville (11).

A-L grabbed first-place honors in eight events. 

Individual firsts went to Kylee Brown in the long jump (14-11.5), Kaitlyn Ortgiesen in the 800-meter run (2:57.24), Ashley Althaus in the 400-meter dash (1:04.5), Emma Lundquist in the 300-meter low hurdles (51.65) and Margaret Vaessen in the 1600-meter run (5:58.24).

Three Lady Clipper relay teams raced to first place – the 4x800 in 11:46, the 4x400 in 4:31.02 and the 4x200 in 4:31.02.
