AMBOY – The Amboy-LaMoille-Ohio Clippers dropped their season-opening football game, 14-6, to Milledgeville, on Aug. 25 at the AHS field.
Amboy scored the game’s first touchdown when quarterback Justin Hart hooked up with Reece Vaessen on a 15-yard touchdown pass. The big play of the drive was a 31-yard aerial from Hart to Andrew Gillan.
But that was the only touchdown the Clippers could muster. Meanwhile, the Missiles finally got on the board in the second half when a nifty punt return set the stage for a 2-yard touchdown run by quarterback Nate Rahn in the third period. Milledgeville also converted the two-point conversation to grab at 8-6 lead.
Milledgeville added another touchdown later in the game to provide the final margin.
The Clippers will return to action on Friday, Sept. 1 when they travel to Eastland-Pearl City.
